Nowadays, in domestic drilling sites, single shaft shale shakers are the most widely used shale shaker type whose vibration motion is circle or circular cone. Although this type shakers are of simple structure, easy design and manufacture, separation effect actually does not make the operators satisfied. What’s more, screen of this kind shale shaker is of short service life, generally below 100 working hours, which will seriously affect the progress of oil gas drilling.

In recently years, imported drilling liquids linear shale shakers are applied in offshore drilling platforms and onshore deep well drilling platforms. According to the situation of application sites, those imported linear shale shakers are with excellent purification effect and sufficient processing capacity but it seems that shale shaker screen is much more easily damaged, that is the service time of shaker screen is greatly discounted and cost of the drilling will be increased for high price of imported shaker screen. Close dependence on imported shale shaker and shaker screen obviously does not confirm to drilling application situation in China.  

 

Currently, in China, circular motion shale shaker, linear motion shale shaker and elliptical balanced shale shakers are most commonly used in drilling sites. But to some extent, these shale shakers are not perfect on their own side. Shale shaker is good at reducing the rate of screen blocking but it is likely to throw the solids with excessive angle and causes unsatisfied processing effect; linear shale shaker does well in constant solids separation and big volume solids processing capacity, shaker screens may also be blocked by its single vibration direction; elliptical balanced shale shaker may cause a series of mechanical problems for its low frequency. Accordingly, considering from economic perspectives, shale shakers with high performance and practical utility matching Chinese drilling sites development and situation will be urgently required. And that is what is imperative.
